On the 5th of April the fashion scene in Bulawayo comes alive as the Rotaract Club hosts the beauty pageant, Mr. and Miss Professional. The Rotaract is an organization of service minded young professionals who volunteer their time to community and international service. It is a global network of over 8000 Rotaract Clubs chartered by the Rotary International and sponsored by local Rotary Clubs.
The MISS PROFFESIONAL beauty pageant is premised on Rotary’s notion that each profession is an opportunity to serve and is inspired by Rotaract’s youthfulness and sense of adventure. The participants are required to be in any field or studying towards a certain profession. They ought to be responsible and upright citizens as well.
The pageant has 23 finalists that emerged from the 42 beaus and lasses that auditioned, 15 female and 8 male. The finalists have been choreographed and trained by Ricochet Modeling Agency and Diva Model Management. The winner will act as a goodwill ambassador for the Rotaract Projects.
The Rotaract Club has partnered with the Bulawayo Board of Designers (BBD) to dress the models in the Professional Category. The BBD is a fashion board with over 20 of Bulawayo’s most talented fashion designers, so we are expecting to see high levels of fashion. To everyone attending come out looking your best. You just might be captured on camera by our very own Ernest Mackina.
Entertainment on the day will include TKP of phumie langa fame, Rudo Nyoni, Devon Clark and the One Stand Band.
