Could you have diabetes: the signs/symptoms.
In cases of Type 1 diabetes the signs and symptoms can be very obvious and develop quite rapidly e.g. within a few weeks. These symptoms can be relieved once the diabetes has been diagnosed, treated and under control.
However, Type 2 diabetes is a slow creeper. This type sneaks up on you over a very long period of time, usually years. One may only suspect following other routine medical check-ups. For this kind of diabetes early diagnosis is usually the most ideal and yields better results.
So the following are the major signs to watch out for, and if it’s happening many times than is normal, then it could be that you have diabetes.
- Nocturia- if you find yourself waking up frequently during the night to pass urine something maybe brewing.
- Increased thirst
- Fatigue
- Weight loss- not everyone who loses weight has diabetes, but if you can’t explain it then it could be a sign that something is wrong. Have it checked out as it may be diabetes.
- Genital itching or regular episodes of thrush
- Wounds that are slow to heal
- Blurred vision
