“This Is Africa” has been known to be Africa’s highest selling multi-artist album series. It has however worked hand in hand with Jungle South- (A Jungle Entertainment Venture) to compile and market a compilation called THIS IS AFRICA: ZIMBABWE’S HITS 2012-2013 . The album is said to have taken over 12 months to compile and is now available for purchase and streaming on i-tunes and spotify among other distribution channels.
It feature some of the biggest act in the Zimbabwean Music industry and also some new comers who seem to be making waves and slowly penetrating the industry. Jah Prayzah, Nox, Junior Brown, MMT, Dino Mudondo, Ammara Brown, Reverb7, Tehn Diamond, Oliver Mtukudzi, Jusa Dementor, Jay C Chitate, and more. Zimbabwe’s music industry makes use of this compilation as a method of showcasing its great new talent. The likes of Swisha, Tricky J, Gee Brandon and Navy Seal. founded in 2012 and already boasting of & record labels around the globe, “Jungle has no plan to deviate from its seemingly simple yet enormous mission: to increase the relevance of Africa’s artistic content and boost the revenue of Africa’s entertainment industry,” they proudly said.
After dropping , “This Is Africa – Naija Hits 2012 – 2013” in May 2012, compiled by DJ Chiggzy , there has been an overwhelming response, crossing the 750,000 units mark in only 3 months. An incredible milestone for Modern African Music, thanks to the fans, and the global market at large. So we expect and hope that as much as the Nigerian Compilation got support, Zimbabwean talent will be recognized as well.
